Mindfulness meditation by Jo

METHOD: Soto Zen meditation

I conducted secular meditation classes, which aimed at teaching mindfulness in the form of observing one’s breath, conscious eating, as well as mindful walking. Prior experience in meditation or Zen Buddhism was not required. Classes were based on intuitive breathing techniques, as well as mindfulness exercises, which allowed the participants to slow down, accept the silence, and simply be with themselves for a moment.

During the lockdown caused by the global pandemic, I conducted regular online meditation classes (from Monday till Friday at 6:30 AM) on social media. My breathing exercises helped with reducing stress, improving sleep quality, and boosting concentration.
